Denville, NJ Middle School Principal Pleads Guilty to Child Abuse

Paul Iantosca, the Denville school principal accused of trying to solicit sex from a 16-year-old former student, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to child abuse.

The 52-year-old principal of Valleyview Middle School was arrested in May after sending the student sexual messages on Snapchat, a social media platform, and arranging to meet him in a Denville parking lot.

Iantosca admitted in state Superior Court in Morris County that he learned the student was a minor while communicating with him and continued to send messages of a sexual nature despite that knowledge.

The student told police he became friends with Iantosca on Snapchat after the principal visited him at work. The next day, while the student was in school, Iantosca sent him messages saying he wanted to “have some fun” and see the student naked, according to court documents.

Iantosca arranged to meet the student in a parking lot on Pocono Road, but the student never showed. A Denville police officer met Iantosca instead and took him into custody. The principal told police he planned to take the student to another location for oral sex, according to court documents.
