Job-Connect

A core belief of The Blue Ribbon Project is that all foster youth should be given a chance to succeed in life. Upon speaking with foster youth directly, a major concern that is expressed is the ability to find employment. Additionally, research shows that young people in foster care are far more likely to endure homelessness, poverty, compromised health, unemployment and incarceration after they leave the foster care system.

Job Application     Not only does The Blue Ribbon Project strive to teach foster youth important life skills through it's Aging Up...Not Out program, we also work to help connect foster youth with local employers within the community. Assisting foster youth in finding employment not only helps them develop important life skills, it also can mean a connection to a lifelong mentor, the ability to envision a career path, a boost in self-confidence, an appreciation for the value of education, a path of not ending up on the street, and a belief that you can be something.

The Blue Ribbon Project's Job-Connect is a connection portal between foster youth and prospective employers within the community. It is free for businesses to list employment opportunities for foster youth on our website. We will also assist the youth with any needs or assistance in obtaining employment.
